Prayer List

The origin of the prayer list can be traced to James 5:14-15, "Is any one of you sick?  He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord.  And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up.  If he has sinned, he will be forgiven."  Please pray for those listed as sick in our weekly bulletin as Paul did, in Ephesians 3:16, "I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, " and Jude 1:20-21, "But you, dear friends, build yourself up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit.  Keep yourselves in God's love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you eternal life."  It is imperative that we continually pray for one another, even when the reason is unknown.  "The prayer of a a righteous man is powerful and effective."  James 5:16
